Myra Copus received her BFA, cum laude, from the university of Geortgia.  A Phi Beta Kappa, she majored in painting and drawing and minored in languages.  After spending 2 years in Brazil as a Peace Corps volunteer, she and her family moved to Annapolis.

    A former gallery owner and continuous painter, Copus has developed a unique painting technique.  Paintings are spontaneous compositions created by large wash areas, intricate detail, and line.  Oils are characterized by jewel-like transparencies.  There is endless variety of texture and atmosphere in her paintings, and her love of nature is the driving force.
