David Cheifetz
|
David Andrew Nishita Cheifetz was born in the Pacific Northwest in 1981. He is a former architect who recently (in the fall of 2007) discovered an aptitude and passion for oil painting during his classical training at the prestigious Schuler School of Fine Arts in Baltimore. David's architectural draftsmanship has contributed to a style that is loose yet precise, filled with he energy of his "alla prima" approach. He is influenced by the work of Nicolai Fachin and many contemporary realists. David believes that a successful still-life painting should infuse beauty and drama into ordinary things and that good portraiture reveals the inherent beauty already present in any human face. David has already been featured in Artist's Magazine as the number 1 emerging artist in both portraiture and still life painting. He has also been featured in American Artist and Salon International and will be in the upcoming Southwest Art Magazine in September. We are proud that he sought us out to represent him during his rise as one of art's young stars. David currently lives in Palo Alto, California with his wife, Yasmine. NOTE: In a world wide competition in February's "Artist's" magazine for most talented new artists, David Cheifetz won 1st place in BOTH portraiture and still life! And in the Sept. issue of Southwest Art, you saw kudos again. He has been chosen as one of the "21 under 31" young artists to collect NOW! Seems we can spot talent when we see it. Thanks for starting here with us, David! We will make you proud that you did! |
