2008 CALENDAR OF EVENTS

We are VERY excited to announce our summer exhibition ...A solo show for Yves Parent on August 23, 2008.  Mark your calendars! (see details below)

Introducing....First Fridays at carmen's gallery!  We are joining the Calvert Marine Museum and extending our hours until 8 pm on the first Friday of each month.  We'll have special exhibits, activities, and other things to surprise and please you!  We've also learned that caren's (next door, not to be mistaken with carmen's), and Sea Gull Cove Gifts (among others) will also be open.  We hope you'll join us. First Friday - May 2:  5 - 8 p.m. - carmen's presented "An Evening for the Senses".  Special gallery guest was the Bronze Door Spa owner, Nicole Tongue, and staff.  We offered complimentary 10 minute seated massages on a first come, first served basis.  Many took advantage of this wonderful service.  If you didn't, you can visit the Bronze Door Day Spa in Prince Frederick.  We hope to offer something equally special in June.  Stay tuned to this site and we'll let you know very soon what we have planned.  carmen's -  Sounds like the place to be! This is exciting.... We've just negotiated a show with fantastically successful marine artist Yves Parent.  The solo exhibition will be held on Saturday, August 23 from 6 - 9 p.m.  The show will feature Parent's wildly popular oil paintings, many of which feature Solomons Island & Chesapeake Bay scenes.  This French artist lives and works in CT, but often sails through Solomons.  An avid sailor (Parent has single handed his sailboat across the Atlantic), the artist can often be seen sketching interesting landscapes during his sailing adventures.  In fact, in an around the world race, Parent found time to paint!  Please mark your calendars.

Future shows at carmen's gallery.....Shows planned for '08 include a fall exhibition for Wesley James Drake and Scott Tallman Powers!  We're working on a date, but hope to have more info to you soon!!
