Mick McAndrews

Mick's award winning paintings strive to capture the mood and atmosphere of a subject, combining the magic of watercolor with reverence for the principles of design to create works of sophisticated simplicity.  Recent awards include the National Watercolor Society Award for Excellence in Watermedia from the Philadelphia Watercolor Society's Annual Exhibition of Works on Paper and First Place in the Delaware Valley Art League's Juried Exhibition at West Chester University.

Mick’s paintings are available for purchase at Visual Expansion Gallery in West Chester, PA, and Longwood Art Gallery in Kennett Square, PA.  He receives commission work upon request and he teaches watercolor in the studio at Yellow Springs in Chester Springs, PA.  Mick is a signature member of the Philadelphia Watercolor Society, the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, the Baltimore Watercolor Society, the French Creek Art Colony and he is an Artist Member of the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association. He is also a member of the American Watercolor Society.

Mick is ever inspired by the natural landscape of the Brandywine Valley, Maryland’s Eastern Shore, New England's quaint charm and rugged coastline, and travels abroad. Much of his recent work has been completed “en plein air” inspired by the surrounding outdoor scenery and activity.
